Registration/Delegation Structure and Country Selection

In order to enable as many schools as possible to participate, schools may represent one delegation (5-8 students). Only upon a special request stating the reasons why there is a need for a second delegation, will we be able to revise this policy. The number of delegates your school can send is based on the following guidelines:

All countries are represented by one delegate in the Disarmament Committee (DC), Environment Committee (EC), Human Rights Committee (HRC), Political Committee (PC), and the Special Conference on Empowering Women (SCEW). The Security Council (SC) will have two delegates per delegation. The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Security Council and the Special Conference are not part of the General Assembly (GA), and they will be in session for three days.

Enclosed is a list of countries represented at this year's BERMUN conference. Please review it and complete FORM I: List in order of preference the countries your school would like to represent. If you apply for an ECOSOC and/or Security Council country, the positions should be filled by experienced and qualified delegates. Select countries so that all available committee assignments can be filled. Keep in mind that interested students can apply for positions as Student Officers, in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as members of the Youth Assembly or as members of the press team. PLEASE RETURN FORM I NO LATER THAN Tuesday, May 28, 2007

Upon receipt of FORM 1, country assignments will be posted on our website, or you will be notified by e-mail or fax by June 20 (subject to change). FORM 2 will be sent in June and should be returned NO LATER THAN October 1st!
